Brown is one of five members of the leadership group of the men's hockey team and is one of 13 Olympic veterans, having been part of the silver-medal winning effort in Vancouver. In 2012, he captained the NHL's Los Angeles Kings to the club's first-ever Stanley Cup championship. He is in his ninth NHL season, and sixth as team captain.
