Now in his fifth year in the NHL, van Riemsdyk was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs before the 2012-13 season and instantly helped lead the Maple Leafs to the Stanley Cup playoffs. He is a veteran of a number of U.S. teams, having won three international medals.
