ROAD TO SOCHI
In only her second full season on the world cup tour, Shiffrin earned six podium finishes – including four wins – and capped the 2012-13 season with a legendary, come-from-behind victory to clinch the overall slalom title. She became the youngest American to win a world cup title in any discipline, and the first U.S. world cup slalom champion since 1984. She also garnered the slalom gold medal at the 2013 World Championships, becoming the youngest U.S. slalom world champion – male or female – in history. With six world cup podiums so far this season, Shiffrin is poised to medal in her Olympic debut in Sochi.
