ROAD TO SOCHI
A slalom specialist, Kasper debuted on the world cup circuit during the 2009-10 season. After earning a top-25 finish at the Vancouver 2010 Games, he had a breakout year in 2011, earning the European Cup slalom title and his first world cup podium finish. After undergoing multiple hip surguries, he was poised to return for the 2013 World Championships, but tore his ACL and meniscus while training in Val d'Isere, France, in December 2012. He returned to competition in 2014, earning an 18th-place finish in slalom at the 2013-14 Kitzbuehel World Cup to secure his second Olympic berth.
