ROAD TO SOCHI
Hendrickson is leading a pack of U.S. female ski jumpers to the first Olympic competition in the sport’s history in Sochi. Competing in her inaugural world cup circuit in 2011-12, the teen sensation earned gold on the Olympic jump in Lillehammer, Norway, and won nine of 13 events to finish first in the overall standings. The following season, she finished second in the overall standings and won her first world title. The 19-year-old underwent successful surgery on her right knee in August 2013, and has made a full recovery. She is looking to make history by winning the first Olympic gold medal in women’s ski jumping.
