ROAD TO SOCHI
In the spring of 2011, Deibold shattered his hand into 13 pieces, but was able to undergo surgery and rehab before the next season, during which he sealed his fifth X Games spot. Then in February 2013, he earned his first world cup podium with a second-place finish at the 2014 Olympic venue in Sochi. He followed it up with an additional world cup podium in 2013-14 to secure his first Olympic appearance.
