ROAD TO SOCHI
With more than 30 world cup medals to his name, Fredricks is currently in his 12th season as a member of the U.S. world cup team. The two-time world cup overall 500-meter champion made his Olympic debut at the Torino 2006 Games, finishing 24th in the 500. He continued to climb the international ranks and finished 12th in the same event at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. After considering retiring due to chronic back injuries, Fredericks returned to claim gold in his first outing of the 2013-14 World Cup season. Making his third Olympic appearance, he is poised to medal in his signature event.
